Using a Game Boy Color, a Game Boy Advance SP screen, and a custom kit purchased online, YouTuber This Does Not Compute successfully created a version of the Game Boy Color with a backlit screen.

With a little bit of soldering and some adjustments to the Game Boy Color's plastic shell, This Does Not Compute was able to add BennVenn's backlighting conversion cable to the Game Boy Color, solving that horrible problem of not being able to see your screen without a direct light source. Just look at how pretty those colors now look with a backlit screen.
