Philippines phone company ad captures the way we text our dads

"K."

You usually call dad when you need something, but how often do you tell him you love him?

This ad for Father's Day from Globe Telecom in the Philippines showcases the brief day-to-day texts between a daughter and her father. Most of the messages from her are requests for his help: she had a flat tyre, she needs a ride somewhere, and so on.

His replies are always just "k." But while he seems terse over text, the way he looks at her and rushes over whenever she texts, speaks volumes of his love.

Since it's an ad from a phone company, the message is clearly to give your dad a call. That's a good idea.
