Chinese artist, filmmaker, photographer, and activist Ai Weiwei premiered his latest installation of public art in New York City this week. The piece is curated by Public Art Fund New York. 'Good Fences Make Good Neighbors' will be up from October 12th to February 11th all over the city. In order to draw attention to the global migrant and refugee crisis, Weiwei has created cages in spaces where New Yorkers wander freely, to symbolize the obstacles refugees all over the world are facing. The piece features three large structures, one in Central Park, one in Flushing Meadows, Queens, and one in Washington Square Park. There are smaller pieces all over the city, on bus stops and lamp posts that can be found as well.
