Gwyneth Paltrow still appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn't mean the Goop empress has to spend any more time in it than necessary.
Paltrow — who famously forgot she was in Spider-Man: Homecoming — revealed to Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday that she never actually saw Spider-Man: Homecoming. Gwyneth, you're missing out!
She's got a point; there are loads of Marvel movies, all with overlapping casts, so she just assumed her scene was part of an Avengers movie and not attached to any singular hero (other than Iron Man). Around the same time as her Homecoming revelation, Paltrow was photographed with Avengers costar Sebastian Stan, who said in the caption that he had to introduce himself to her again. She was there to work, Seb! Not to make friends!
Kimmel goes on to say that it's okay for Paltrow to have not seen Spider-Man because "you're Gwyneth Paltrow...you shouldn't be watching Spider-Man!"
The implication here seems to be that Spider-Man movies don't line up with Paltrow's overall brand — but to reiterate, she has been in multiple MCU movies since 2008, and Spider-Man: Homecoming is a masterpiece!
