Science has been working for YouTuber Mark Rober for his entire career, but today it finally let him down.

Appearing on the First We Feast channel to take on the Hot Ones challenge, Rober attempted to use a variety of methods — from coating his mouth with peanut butter to neutralise the spice with lemon ice cubes — in an attempt to overcome the heat from 10 increasingly fiery chicken wings.

Unfortunately, on Hot Ones, the heat simply cannot be overcome — although Rober does put in a solid effort that includes a very strong, very sweaty finish.
