An Indian man has set a world record for hugging the maximum number of people in a minute. A new video posted by the Guinness World Records shows Krishna Kumar speed-hugging as many as 79 people, most of them young school students one after the other, in a matter of 60 seconds.

Kumar, a resident of the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, has actually embraced 83 people, but the Guinness World Records team disqualified some of the hugs for being more like headlocks. "The rules for this record title state that to count as a genuine hug, both arms have to be wrapped around the other person in a close embrace," the official statement adds.

Kumar, who surpassed the previous record held by Australian Carrie Bickmore for 77 hugs, described his new record "highest level of human achievement".
