It's not giving away much to reveal that by the end of The King of Staten Island, Pete Davidson's Scott is growing into the "man" side of his man-child persona. But as an exclusive clip from the film's alternate ending reminds us, he'll always be a kid at heart.
The extremely endearing scene has Scott showing up at a class career day to talk about firefighters. Though he isn't one himself, it's a job he's intimately familiar with: Not only does he spend much of the movie grieving his late firefighter dad, he also ends up living in a firehouse with his mom's firefighter boyfriend, Ray (Bill Burr), for a chunk of time.
But while Scott may not exactly be firefighter material, as he himself admits in the clip, it's clear he's a natural when it comes to children. After charming Ray's kids earlier in the film, he's absolutely killing it with this kindergarten class.
As far as we know, there are no plans for a King of Staten Island sequel — but can we get another movie of Pete Davidson hanging out with small children, please?
Until then, King of Staten Island is available to own on digital through iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and more. It will hit Blu-ray and DVD Aug. 25.
