Lego and Ford have teamed up to create an impressively detailed Lego model of Ford's latest GT supercar participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. This year marks the 50th anniversary the Ford GT40 winning the race, the first time an American car did so. That classic model also got the Lego treatment.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans race is an annual car race in France that lasts a full 24 hours. It isn't judged by how quickly drivers go around the track, only by how many laps they can complete before the time is up.

That means cars not only need to be fast, they need to be reliable and durable as well. "Durable" isn't exactly what comes to mind when Lego bricks are involved, but hey, it's still pretty cool.

Each model took about three weeks to build and use between 30,000-40,000 Lego bricks. They'ill be on display for the public during the race, which takes place Saturday and Sunday.
