Ah, yes, nothing like a quaint dramedy about a fictional Hollywood sexual predator to get our minds off of all those real Hollywood sexual predators. Especially when it's made by someone who is, himself, an alleged Hollywood sexual predator.

Insert upside-down smiley face emoji here.

Louis C.K. directed, co-wrote, and stars in I Love You, Daddy, a Manhattan homage featuring a Woody Allen stand-in played by John Malkovich. C.K. plays a C.K. type, a successful TV writer raising a daughter (Chloë Grace Moretz).

The film centers on the ugly allegations surrounding Malkovich's character. It's a known fact that he has a taste for teen girls, and a rumor that he once molested a child. When the daughter strikes up a friendship with the pervy older director, C.K.'s character freaks out.

I Love You, Daddy is not about the C.K. allegations per se, but they're awfully hard to ignore when the film is showing us scene after scene of C.K.'s character talking about the space between rumor and fact – and especially when the entire entertainment industry is stumbling past one sexual assault scandal after another.

Then again, I guess there's no good time to release such a movie anyway. So I Love You, Daddy will be in theaters Nov. 17.
