With Election Day right around the corner, The Lincoln Project has enlisted some help from Star Wars icon Mark Hamill.

In a nearly two-minute ad called "Absentee," Hamill gives the American people a crash course in political history and delivers a crucial last-minute reminder: "Elections have consequences."

In a press release, the political action committee (founded by former Republican strategists in 2019) detailed the importance of casting a ballot in the 2020 election — be it in person or absentee.

Hamill reminds viewers that America's voting history is a troubled one, and notes that Donald Trump's administration continually seeks to delegitimize mail-in and absentee ballots across the country.

"Nothing is more important than counting every vote, especially those that are serving our country. Suppressing any vote is un-American," Hamill said.

Watch the ad to hear Hamill's full speech, and check to ensure that your vote is counted in this election here.
