This powerful marriage equality ad just wants politicians to 'do their job'

It is astounding that anyone would need to make an ad about the not-particularly-revolutionary idea that members of the LGBTQ community are real people (shock horror!) who deserve to get married if they wish to.

But here we are, in the year 2017, and same-sex marriage is still not legal in Australia. To help remedy that injustice, the folks behind the Australian Marriage Equality campaign have released a new ad, and lord is it a doozy.

Emphasising the glaring hypocrisy that underlines the decision to deny LGBTQ people the right to marriage, this short video is a powerful call to action -- one that implores politicians to "do their job."

Fair warning: it's a powerful watch.
