Not an hour after Nintendo surprised everyone at E3 2017 by announcing that Metroid Prime 4 is in development for the Nintendo Switch, the Big N doubled down on Samus Aran by revealing another new Metroid game for the 3DS Tuesday.

Metroid: Samus Returns is a "reimagination" of the Metroid II: Return of Samus Gameboy game, first released in 1991, Nintendo's spokespeople said during its E3 Treehouse. The game is not a 1:1 remake of the old game, but rather an updated edition of the bounty hunter's exploits, filled with new gameplay, new features, and, of course, really nice updated graphics.

Though the game does not yet have a set release date, the extended gameplay demo that was featured on the show floor seems like it's close to done. What a big day for Metroid fans.
