You may be wondering, what is the point of a limited edition $130 noise cancelling ramen fork.

Well to be brutally honest there is no point.

The Otohiko fork is made by the Nissin company, which is known for making instant ramen. The gadget features an obnoxiously large handle that is supposed to cancel out slurping noises while you eat. But, and get this, it does that by allowing your phone to create even more noise.

Great gadget!

The Otohiko fork pairs with a companion app on your smartphone that will play white noise drowning out ramen slurp sounds. That big handle has a microphone in it that picks up your gross slurps and tells your phone, which I guess must stay unlocked and on for the whole of your ramen meal, to loudly explode into a burst of static noise.

It's the most attention-grabbing way to try to not bring attention to yourself.

Ramen is meant to be slurped. You’re supposed to stuff your face with the broth and the noodles. Its the perfect combination of weird noises and delicious food all in one bowl.

You can skip this tragic gadget and go right to the food.
