In a video posted to Hillary Clinton's YouTube page on Thursday afternoon, President Barack Obama officially endorsed Clinton for president. The video was posted not long after Obama held a private meeting with Clinton's Democratic primary opponent, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont).

Obama's endorsement is hardly a surprise given that Clinton served as Obama's Secretary of State during his first term in office. That reconciliation came after a competitive, at many times bitter, primary fight for the Democratic nomination in 2008, a fight that Obama invokes in an attempt to bridge the gap between Clinton and Sanders supporters.

But time, and endorsements, heal all wounds and Obama seems ready to hit the stump for Clinton as he's already spent time deploring the rise of the Republican presumptive nominee for president, Donald Trump.
