Priyanka Chopra Jonas recalls watching The Matrix when it first released all those years ago. Now, she's joined the cast of the iconic franchise, with fourth instalment The Matrix Resurrections out Dec. 22.

On Late Night with Seth Meyers, Chopra-Jonas and the late night show host both shared their specific memories of watching the first Matrix movie, which released at the turn of the century in 1999.

Chopra Jonas said she was 16, living in America, and went with friends to watch the film. The memory of the actual cinema-going is fuzzy, she said, but the movie's rippling effects on her life are not.

"What's not fuzzy is trying to wear only black after," she laughed. The Matrix also inspired the inclusion of existential theories (naturally) and black sunglasses in her everyday life. More importantly, though, she began to view films differently. "It shifted my expectations of cinema," she said.

Meyers, meanwhile, admitted that he "got a little stoned" when he watched it all those years ago. A little less touching as an experience, but each to their own.

The two also discussed the making of the new movie and the magic (and fear!) of filming each scene at sunset. On a personal note, Chopra Jonas shared details of her marriage to Nick Jonas, and the enjoyment she got roasting him on Netflix's Jonas Brothers Family Roast. Can't blame her there.
