Don't let the title fool you: Robert Pattinson is very much not having a good time in Good Time.

Or at least, his character, Connie, isn't. Pattinson himself is probably having a blast, seeing as how he's getting some of the best reviews of his career for his performance in the indie crime drama.

Pattinson plays a young bank robber whose latest botched job lands his younger brother, Nick (played by co-director Benny Safdie), in jail. Connie's efforts to break him out takes him on a disturbing journey through New York's criminal underworld.

It's dark, and twisted, and Pattinson is nearly unrecognizable in it. If you still mostly know him as "that dude from Twilight," this is a performance you've gotta see – and if you're already well aware that Pattinson's built an impressive post-Twilight career, it's probably one you already want to see.

Good Time is in select theaters now and expanding to more cities this weekend.
