HBO debuts heartbreaking Robin Williams documentary trailer
Watch Next

Almost four years after the death by suicide of beloved comic Robin Williams, HBO's documentary Come Inside My Mind offers an intimate look at his career and life.

The documentary compiles footage of Williams – interviews, performances, and even childhood photos – and speaks to many of his peers in the comedy community as well as his family. They recall his effervescent stage persona and his ability to make people laugh, but with the inevitable somber undercurrent that this was someone with virulent inner demons.

Directed by Marina Zenovich and produced by Alex Gibney and Shirel Kozak, Come Inside My Mind features interviews with Lewis Black, Billy Crystal, Pam Dawber, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric Idle, David Letterman, Steve Martin, David Steinberg, Williams' son Zak, and more.

Come Inside My Mind premieres July 16 on HBO.
