We all have that one show off (whale) friend.

Rebecca Reyland and her partner Mitchell Goodwin embarked on a fishing trip north of Rottnest Island, Australia with some friends recently. What they didn't expect was to be drenched by a breaching whale's exquisite display of aqua-aerobics.

Reyland told PerthNow that there were 4 or 5 whales around the boat at the time, but it was just one particular show off who gave the humans a fright, and a soaking.

While an Olympic diving judge would take off points for splash-back, this whale has no time for arbitrary human point systems -- it's got belly flops to do!
