SAG-AFTRA is officially going on strike

This marks the first time in 63 years that both SAG and WGA have gone on strike at the same time.

SAG-AFTRA has officially gone on strike. The vote to strike followed weeks of talks between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP leading up to the expiration of SAG-AFTRA’s current contract. A letter sent on June 27 to SAG-AFTRA leadership sought a “transformative deal” and raised concerns surrounding reduced income, streaming residuals, and the use of AI in filmmaking.
