If you've been struggling to keep up with all the shenanigans going on in UK politics over the past week, you are not alone.

Stephen Colbert did a brilliant job of summing up some of the most recent occurrences in a highly entertaining but informative fashion. And he managed to do an A+ impression of the House of Commons Speaker John Bercow, just good for good measure.

Describing Boris Johnson as "British prime minister and racist figgy pudding," Colbert explained that parliament has been prorogued (fancy word for suspended) for five weeks, which isn't exactly ideal when we're slated to leave the EU on Oct. 31 and *checks notes* currently don't have a withdrawal agreement.

"Johnson shut down Parliament just as Britain careens toward economic chaos and, as you might imagine, Parliament did not take that so well. In fact, they took their anger out on — and this is where things really get weird — a woman called Black Rod," explained Colbert. "The title Black Rod is an official whose job, in this case, is to tell Parliament to go home [...] It is not everyday you get to see a blinged-out version of the Quaker Oats guy."

He then proceeded to do a top-notch impression of Bercow, who he described as "House of Commons Speaker and man whose banana was snatched by a mischievous monkey."

"I wanna hang out with this guy. I wanna party with you, cowboy, maybe do brunch?" added Colbert. "'Young man, young man, we require more muffins. No response from you. Get out man, get out and return with my bottomless mimosa, you will not be missed.'"

Uncanny.
