Supergirl has made an art form out of stunt casting -- former Super-alums Dean Cain and Helen Slater play our heroine's adoptive parents, for crying out loud -- but perhaps its greatest achievement was tapping Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter, as the President of the United States.

We haven't seen much of Carter's President Marsdin since she was introduced in episode 203, but she makes a welcome return in the March 27 installment of the CW hit -- and Mashable has an exclusive sneak peek.

In our first look at episode 217, "Distant Sun," the POTUS is a little concerned by the Daxamite ship that's still lurking in low orbit above Earth but in the interests of not causing an intergalactic incident, she's hoping to take a more measured approach to National City's latest alien visitors, and keep conflict to a minimum. We'll just have to wait and see if Mon-El's icy parents (played by Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo, because this show is perfect) are on the same page.

Somehow, we think not.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
