Don't play with creepy occult hands, kids. That's it. Well, apparently no one told the teens leading A24's latest buzzy horror movie, Talk to Me.

The feature film debut from Australian YouTubers RackaRacka (aka Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou) and one of the movies we absolutely can't wait to see this summer, Talk to Me garnered critical praise after premiering at Sundance Film Festival 2023. And following the movie's first terrifying trailer, we've got a second look that doesn't get any less messed up.

Its setup is a classic cautionary tale: a group of reckless teenagers gets their kicks performing ill-advised rituals involving a mysterious object. In this case, a ceramic hand that sees the holder casually possessed for a short time. It's all fun and temporary demonic occupancy, right? But when one of them, Mia (Sophie Wilde), goes too far, there will be blood.

"Talk to Me is a terrifically scary horror offering thanks to powerful performances, creepy creature designs, a splash of blood and gore, and practical effects that'll blow your mind and chill your spine," writes Mashable's Kristy Puchko in her review. "Like its sister in Sundance 2023's Midnight slate, Birth/Rebirth, Talk to Me is the rare horror trip that knows just when to end — with a wallop. If you're looking for some freaky frightening fun, be sure to reach out and touch this one."

Talk to Me opens in cinemas July 28.
