Sure, the trailer for Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid gives us a few snapshots of Ariel (Halle Bailey) and her fellow mermaids swimming through their ocean kingdom, but the real star here is Bailey's voice.
Bailey showcases her considerable vocal talent throughout the 30-second teaser, crooning the last few lines of "Part of Your World" and immediately making the song her own. It's not hard to believe an evil sea witch like Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) would want to steal a voice like that. Speaking of Ursula, we get an ever-so-quick glimpse of her as well — just a flash of tentacle and her iconic eye makeup, plus an extra evil laugh. Those poor, unfortunate souls don't know what's coming.
The Little Mermaid is in theaters May 26.
