As the description for The Slow Mo Guys' latest video makes clear, this one is essentially Gav "filming a vibrating stick" in slow motion.

But it's not just any stick. The gadget in question is actually an ultrasonic obliterator, a piece of lab equipment typically used to mix liquids — like oil and water — that wouldn't normally be able to mix.

Needless to say, Gav finds more uses for it than just that, vaporising water droplets before using the tool to scorch through an apple and punch a hole in his lab coat.

It might not sound that visually appealing, but at 170,000 frames per second the results are surprisingly beautiful.
