It took the Australian mastery of ABC's Insiders to create the perfect parody of Theresa May, superimposing the prime minister's soundbites from the disastrous UK election onto the Monty Python classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The video starts with May as King Arthur calling a general election, but being met with derision as it's revealed that her cabinet is actually a group of dancing knights.

May's speech on "a new, deep and special partnership" with the European Union after Brexit is also ridiculed, as well as her infamous "running through a field of wheat" comment.

Most importantly, Boris Johnson is featured as the dragon and Lord Buckethead -- the uncontested real winner of these elections -- also makes an appearance as the Black Knight.

People loved it and one viewer even demanded another Monty Python supercut with Jeremy Corbyn in Life of Jezza:
