UPDATE: Sep. 26, 2022, 2:50 p.m. CDT This article was updated to clarify the release date for the film. "They Cloned Tyrone" is set to release at an unspecified date in 2023, not December 30, 2022 as previously stated.

Jules Taylor is set to make his directorial debut with the sci-fi film thriller They Cloned Tyrone. Netflix has finally released the first teaser that promises more than one John Boyega and reminds us just how fly Jamie Foxx looks in a fur coat.

They Cloned Tyrone follows the trio of Boyega, Foxx, and Teyonah Parris as they uncover a government conspiracy that probably involves, you guessed it, clones. The three don't seem the most qualified to crack down on nefarious government experiments, but they're the best their neighborhood has at the moment.

The script for the film has been floating around for a while with those having read it describing it as if "Friday meets Get Out." Brian Tyree Henry of Atlanta was originally attached to star when the script was picked up in 2019 with Boyega replacing him in 2020.

How deep the rabbit hole goes is a mystery, but the movie promises to be a pulpy thriller, and an homage to classic Blaxploitation films. Beyond the three starts, the movie will also star J. Alphonse Nicholson, and is set to be released on Netflix in 2023.
