James Van Der Beek gets a hilarious interview treatment from Tig Notaro

Ellen walked so Tig Notaro could run.

James Van Der Beek was a guest on Funny or Die's Under A Rock With Tig Notaro, a new show in which Tig Notaro interviews celebrities in order to figure out who they are. Essentially, it's a backwards interview. And it's hilarious.

At one point, Notaro, with the help of a flash card, tries to guess Van Der Beek's name. The card has a van, some dirt, and a bird with a big beak on it, all obvious clues for anyone who knows the Dawson's Creek star. "Bus, shuttle, bird," she guesses. "Bus, dig, beak," she tries again. Finally Van Der Beek lightheartedly asks if he can change his name to escape the game.

Additionally, Alexa (yes, like the Amazon voice assistant) sings Van Der Beek a song. It's worth a watch. Or five.

Harry is a fellow on the Culture Team. He loves memes and Taylor Swift (no, like, actually.) He'd like to thank his parents for always believing in him. This will be his first broadway production. Oh, wait, he thought this was a Playbill bio...
