A family gathered in Broken Bow, Nebraska, shared an awesome timelapse video Tuesday of their rare experience watching yesterday's total solar eclipse.

People lucky enough to be in the path of totality were treated to a few moments of darkness as the moon blocked the sun. This timelapse shows that exact moment. Because this is such a rare event, members of the McNeil family came from far away just to witness it.

“My sister-in-law has been planning this trip for 5+ years, and family from as far as China flew in for it,” video uploader Andy McNeil told Storyful. “I came from NYC.”
