Donald Trump's Fourth of July speech, given as part of his "Salute to America" event, included quite the anachronistic blunder on Thursday.
Describing the army's efforts during the Revolutionary War in the late 1700s, the president praised troops for their work taking over "the airports." Only problem? There were no airports — or indeed airplanes — way back in June 1775 — air travel didn't come to the U.S. until the early 1900s.

“In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified army out of the revolutionary forces encamped around Boston and New York," Trump began in his speech.
"Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory," he said.
Fort McHenry is actually a site connected to the War of 1812 and not, as Trump stated, the Revolutionary War. In fact Fort McHenry wasn't built until 1798.
