In a rare video, up close and personal with a basking shark, a kayaker has released footage of the shark swimming in the Irish town of Kilkee.
The video shows the kayaker's close encounter with one of the sharks, swimming in circles near the shore on April 12.
Basking sharks are one of the largest fishes in the world and are normally found near the shore between April to September. They can measure up to 11 m in length.
