After the season premiere of The Walking Dead re-acquainted us with the heroes of post-apocalyptic world, the second episode is going to take a look at the rise of the Whisperers, a group that's somehow even more terrifying than zombies.

In this exclusive clip, we see Alpha back before she led the Whisperers and her first encounter with the terrifying Beta. Alpha and her daughter Lydia are seeking shelter and Beta seems reluctant to let them stay.

Lydia asks her mother if the man is a monster. "We're all monsters now," Alpha replies. It's going to be a rough season for everyone.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday at 9:00 p.m. on AMC.
