Colourful science experiments are always fun to watch, and that goes double when the person carrying them out is Will Ferrell.

In the video above the actor joins Jimmy Kimmel and science presenter Bob Pflugfelder as they navigate their way through a series of increasingly silly experiments, starting with making water run upwards (this one doesn't work at all at first) and finishing with some blowtorched levitating hotdogs (a handy alternative to barbecuing).

The highlight? Ferrell accidentally fixing the water experiment by spitting candy corn into it.
