Chief Hopper's morning mantra on season one of Stranger Things"mornings are for coffee and contemplation" — resonated with so many viewers that it became its own meme.

If you're the type of person who agrees that the morning hours are for clearing cobwebs and preparing for what the day will bring, you've come to the right place. To help give your a.m. contemplation sesh a little boost, we're re-capping some of the most buzz-worthy (and occasionally bizarre) internet hits every month.

Below, we re-cap a few of the most viral hits from April.

Surprise, surprise: The internet loves pranks

April Fools' Day elicits a spectrum of emotions and reactions from those who spend significant time on the internet: amusement, annoyance, exasperation and the occasional childlike giggle fit.

It's not just your mischief-loving little bro who's getting in on the mayhem. This year, per usual, brands got involved in the shenanigans. One of the most successful branded jokes this year (or, should we say, one of the only successful... ) was Snapchat's April Fools' filter burn that replicated the aesthetic of one of its top competitors. We sure hope Instagram has a sense of humor.

Then there was this internet-wide conspiracy theory about April the giraffe — a.k.a. the long-limbed, pregnant, gentle giant who dominated your news feed all month long. The rumor spread that April wasn't pregnant at all, and that the livestream was instead an elaborate hoax. (This theory was obviously debunked last week when April finally gave birth.)

And one more AFD win: This teacher's absurd spelling test left his fourth-grade class more than a bit befuddled. The video, posted to Facebook, racked up more than 118,000 likes and an immeasurable amount of nostalgia for the days when figuring out how to spell "blorskee" was the biggest problem in life.

James Corden had an on-point month

What do Demi Lovato, Stephen Curry and Victoria Beckham have in common? Besides A-List status, they were all guests (victims?) of James Corden and his increasingly popular celebrity singalong/Carpool Karaoke schtick.

With pop culture references, spoofs and new takes on some of the world's most popular jams, Corden has developed a winning formula for enrapturing online audiences.

The original Tamagotchi is back and we’ve got all the ‘90s feels

Anyone who experienced '90s childhood remembers the egg-shaped, virtual keychain pets beloved by kids and banned by third-grade teachers everywhere. We're talking, of course, about Tamagotchi.

This month, Japanese toy-maker Bandai re-released the electronic pocket pets in their original design (albeit, in miniature) to give children of the 21st century a peek at all the '90s glory they're missing out on.

Now we're just waiting on POGS to make a resurgence.

Just in time for Easter, the “Peeps on pizza” debate was born

You've heard all the arguments for and against pineapple on pizza... but what about Peeps? That's right: The sugary, gooey marshmallow goodies that dominate convenience store shelves every Easter season. And yes, people are putting them on pizza. The Frankenfood has officially been dubbed "Peepza."

Twitter, of course, went a little berserk with the debate. It's a peeps-eat-Peeps world out there, folks.

Upcoming: Star Wars, the Last Jedi official trailer

As for what we're predicting will take over your social media feeds and brain space in the coming weeks: Keep an eye out for fan theories and more re: the latest installment of the beloved Star Wars franchise. We may have to wait until December 15 to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi in theaters, but we can always spend countless hours in anticipatory speculation all spring, summer and fall.

The below trailer just hit, and it's already racked up a whopping 29 million views on YouTube.
