Avocado Rat is the millennial version of Pizza Rat

On-trend and just as determined.

It's been two years since a rat struggled to drag a hefty slice of pizza along a few subway stairs in New York, and oh, how far we've come.

American hero Pizza Rat now has a rather on-trend Brooklyn antithesis: Avocado Rat.

Discovered hauling an avocado along the tracks at Greenpoint Avenue subway station in Brooklyn on Tuesday, this determined little rat truly embodies the undying millennial addiction to the coveted fruit.

Documentary filmmaker Jessica Edwards managed to capture the little hero, posting an Instagram video of the little battler.

Look, he even managed to get his avo off the tracks before it got smashed.

Avocado Rat isn't the first Pizza Rat spinoff. NYC out-NYCed itself with the arrival of Bagel Rat. Chicago saw its own pizza rodent in Pizza Squirrel, who had an Atlanta spinoff. And then, of course, there was Milkshake Squirrel — game changer.

And we'll never forget the mighty NYC slice battle of Oct. 2015, the Double Pizza Rat showdown.

These little furry fiends remind us to dare to dream, y'know? Or at least remind us that anything can be turned into a sexy Halloween costume.
