LOS ANGELES -- Big Brother -- CBS' tentpole reality show -- will launch a digital edition in September.

The show, called Big Brother: Over The Top, is scheduled to launch Sept. 28 on CBS All Access, the network's digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service.

The 10-week season, hosted by Julie Chen, will welcome an all-new cast of Houseguests.

However, unlike the linear version, the show is "reimagine[d]...for multiplatform audiences."

CBS said fans "will have more opportunities to engage with the Houseguests," and utilize interactive features such as 24/7 live feeds, chat and impact votes.

“We are very excited to embark on this new adventure for Big Brother,” Executive Producer Allison Grodner said in a statement. "With the unique streaming format, not only will viewers get to see everything play out live, including ceremonies and competitions, the audience will also participate in the show like never before. Each week will offer unprecedented interactive opportunities that will have an immediate impact on the game.”

Also headed to CBS' digital platform: Star Trek: Discovery and a spinoff of The Good Wife, both slated to premiere early next year.

CBS All Access charges users $6 a month with commercials running on everything except for classic shows from the CBS library.

At the network's Television Critics Association presentation, Marc DeBevoise, president and COO of CBS Interactive, did say CBS is "toying with a commercial free option.”
