Burger buns have long been beige; but no more!

An enterprising Australian chained called Ribs & Burgers has come up with a bold plan to turn all your burger buns blue.

Taking inspiration from the deep blue skin of the shape-shifting mutants Mystique and Nightcrawler, the creations celebrate the Blu-ray (you know, those round disc things) release of X-Men: Apocalypse. You've got your triple chillied chicken, some blue cheese and one hell of a blue bun.

Devastatingly, the 'mutant burgers' are only available in a limited number across the country on Sept 28.

A bonus 100 blue-bunned burgers will be available for free in Sydney through the Deliveroo app between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. AEST.

As a delicious closer, a handful Deliveroo bike riders will be painted in the likeness of the shape-shifting mutant.

Those delivery workers not in blue makeup could equally say they were Mystique, but like, when she shape shifts to look like literally anyone else.

Hungry yet?
