Burger King announces Cheetos Chicken Fries because why not?

The Burger King and Chester Cheetah just can't keep away from each other.

Burger King and Cheetos' partnership is only getting stronger and weirder.

Their latest concoction? Cheetos Chicken Fries, arriving in participating restaurants Sept. 14.

The cheesy chicken strips are a twist on Burger King's popular Chicken Fries, but with crispy Cheetos-flavored breading.

While the Cheetos Chicken Fries sound sort of crazy at first, we totally get their logic. White meat chicken with cheesy breading is obviously good – so why not gather all the Cheeto dust the Cheetos factory floor has accumulated to make some breading? (We're kidding – we know they had fans mail in their cheetle.)

BK is no stranger to food mashups – this year alone, their Mac n' Cheetos combined the Cheetos look and flavor with mac and cheese, and their Whopperito turned the classic cheeseburger into a burrito.

Since Burger King's Chicken Fries became a permanent menu item last spring due to customer demand, the fast food chain's variations have included Fiery Chicken Fries, Buffalo Chicken Fries, Jalapeño Chicken Fries and Chicken Fries Rings.

While we can't guarantee that the Cheetos Chicken Fries will be a success, we are loving the bromance between the Burger King and Chester Cheetah.

Cheetos Chicken Fries will be available at select Burger King locations beginning Wednesday, Sept. 14. They will retail at $2.89 for a nine piece per order, for a limited time only.
