Trump's still arguing that 'covfefe' tweet had 'deep meaning' and is not 'a mistweet'

It's been more than two years since Donald Trump almost certainly accidentally tweeted the letters "covfefe" in succession, and to this day he's still defending himself.

For those of you who've blocked 2017 out of your memories, here's a refresher. In May 2017, Trump sent Twitter into chaos after tweeting the nonsensical phrase, "Despite the constant negative press covfefe." He most likely misspelled the word "coverage," but swore that "covfefe" was intentional. Trump even had his then press secretary, Sean Spicer, tell everyone that the combination of letters made sense to "a small group of people."

The term "covfefe" was heavily meme'd, inspired some merch, and even led Democratic Representative Mike Quigley to introduce a "Covfefe Act," which expanded the Presidential Records Act to include any social media posts shared by the president, not just posts shared from the official @POTUS accounts.

Trump's possible typo also inspired the name of an award-winning race horse, who recently won a Breeder's Cup event at Santa Anita Park in California. And when the Daily Caller tweeted news of the horse's win and explained that she's named after Trump's "famous mistweet," the president chimed in to argue, once again, that he meant to tweet "covfefe" all along.

When we set the clocks back for Daylight Savings this weekend did we travel back in time several entire years? Is this 2017? Because if not I have no idea why the president is still defending this tweet, and neither do a lot of other people.
