'Hamilton' actor declines to apologize to Mike Pence: 'Conversation is not harassment'

From one Vice President to another: Conversation matters. In response to Donald Trump's umbrage over the Hamilton cast's message for Mike Pence, actor Brandon Victor Dixon (who plays Aaron Burr and was the actor who actually read the statement to Pence after Friday's show) went on CBS News Monday morning to encourage openness and unity with the President-elect and his team.

"Conversation is not harassment," Dixon said on CBS This Morning.

Dixon responded to criticism that the cast should not have addressed Pence in a packed auditorium, but in private, backstage. He noted that guests and celebrities who come to the show are openly invited to visit the actors after the show, but that Pence did not.

"He absolutely could've done that," Dixon said. "And if he was unaware at the time, I say to him: Vice President-Elect Mike Pence, please, come, have a conversation with us."

Just a reminder: Trump spent his weekend tweeting about Hamilton while buying his way out of a $25 million lawsuit for fraud.
