'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' gets Broadway release date
American Potter fans: You no longer have to book a Portkey to London to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts 1 and 2. The award-winning play will open in New York City on April 22, 2018.
According to Pottermore, the Lyric Theatre is "undergoing a complete transformation" for the show's demanding staging, which includes a chase atop a moving train and an underwater sequence.
Cursed Child, written by Jack Thorne and based on a story by Thorne, J.K. Rowling, and Jack Tiffany, follows Harry Potter's son Albus Severus on a life-changing journey at school when he feels lost and lonely. A printed version of the rehearsal script was published in 2016 and broke plenty of records, so don't expect this one to go away any time soon.
Tickets go on sale in fall on the play's official website. The Cursed Child script is available where books (plays) are sold.
