The Stark siblings are struggling in 'Game of Thrones' Season 7

Well, Jon isn't *technically* a Stark.

Even if you don't watch Game of Thrones, you know a few basic things: 1. You win or you die, and 2. The Starks can't have anything nice.

Newly reunited in Season 6, Jon Snow and Sansa Stark (R.I.P. Rickon) seem to have the makings of a formidable Northern army and rulers to boot -- but as star Kit Harington told Entertainment Weekly, things might not be copacetic.

“There is definite tension between them right from the first scene,” Harington said.

“There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her," Harington continued. "But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.”

There were stirrings of this last season after Sansa disagreed with Jon about his strategy for the Battle of the Bastards and ended up saving the day. With Little Finger whispering in her ear, Sansa is realizing that she's more than a noble lady or wife -- that she might be the leader Westeros needs if Jon isn't.

Harington further opened up about the season's staggering pace ("it was a plodding slow machine and now it's turning into a thriller") and enjoying a little more flexibility in his portrayal of Jon Snow.

“It’s a nice change for me this season, he talks more, he’s more sure of himself,” Harington said. “He doesn’t just know what he’s got to do but he’s more sure of what he’s saying — whereas before there was always some fear and doubt. I’ve gotten to enjoy not just grunting.”

Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres July 16 on HBO.
