Bette Midler named a chicken Kim Kardashian. Then it died of a yeast infection.

Rest in peace, Kim Kardashian -- the chicken, that is. The human Kim Kardashian lives on to provide necessary consistency in these turbulent times with her nude selfies. 

According to Bette Midler, the chicken she named after the reality star has tragically passed away of a yeast infection.

"We have the Kardashian sisters, actually, our chickens," Midler told reporters at the New York Restoration Project's Spring Picnic on June 1.

Then, she broke the tragic news: "Kim died of a yeast infection. We had to get some different ones."

 Long live Khloe and Kourtney.

You might assume that Midler named her chickens after the Kardashians following her recent social media tiffs with Kim, but she's been the wind beneath the Kardashian chickens' wings for several years now. 

Last year, Midler discussed her chickens on Jimmy Kimmel Live and sang some of Kim's most profound tweets. 

Kim Kardashian the chicken's brief time on earth is a reminder to all of us to keep up with your loved ones while you can.

Meanwhile, the human Kim Kardashian is trying to preserve life in her own way.
