[Caution: Spoilers follow!]

Jon Snow has had a rough journey from brooding bastard to lonely warrior to heartbroken Lord Commander -- only to be snuffed out by a child with a weapon. His life was 50 shades of complicated...and that's before he was stabbed to death and resurrected by an ancient witch.

As a result, things have also been pretty rough for Kit Harington -- who has spent almost two years playing dumb or playing dead and lying about it.

Now that Jon's been resurrected, Harington is revealing the enormity of the secrets he kept on the Game of Thrones set -- where he had to lie to his costars about Jon's fate during filming.

Harington knew since early in production of Season 5 that he would die in the finale and be resurrected afterward. The only other people in the know were showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss. So even in his off hours Harington had to act -- this time convincing his Thrones family that Season 5 would be the end for Jon Snow.

“At first I thought I would find it fun,” Harington told Entertainment Weekly. “This will be a fun game. But I had to lie to a lot of close friends and cast members and crew. The longer it went, the more I felt like I was betraying them. So I did end up letting people in, slowly.”

The responses to his impending departure from the show ranged from heartfelt letters (from Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa) to a resounding "f*ck off" from those who didn't believe him (from Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth).

Imagine: All this time, Jon Snow knew everything.
