Ernie and Bert the possum twins are just the sweetest
Isn't this the cutest duo you've ever laid your eyes on?
These two ring-tailed possums were orphaned after their mum was hit by a car in Sydney, but they've found a surrogate mum in the city's Taronga Zoo.

Nicknamed Ernie and Bert, the two four-month-old joeys will be given care around the clock by zoo staffer Di Scott, who will take the role as mother -- complete with makeshift pouch. Scott will even wake up at 3 a.m. to feed and take the cuties to the toilet.
Upon arrival a week ago, the possum duo were losing weight rapidly in the wake of their mother's death, but have made a recovery in the care of Scott.
"It was really hard to tell them apart when they arrived, so the hospital staff put a spot of nail polish on one their toes to help with identification," Scott said in a statement emailed to Mashable Australia. "They've actually got quite distinct little personalities. Ernie is bouncy and boisterous, while Bert is quiet and shy in comparison."
The possums currently dine on a special milk mixture from a dish, and are beginning to nibble on solid foods, such as leaves and native flowers. They'll stay at the zoo's wildlife hospital, until being transferred to a specialist carer to begin a soft release program, eventually making their way back into the wild.
In the meantime, these possums seem quite content to live it up for now.
