The excitement of the NFL preseason is here. The stakes? Non-existent. The players? Bench-warmers you don't know.

So football fans can be forgiven for getting excited about a rodent running onto the field. In a Thursday night game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins, this little critter created quite a stir.

The announcers even used the telestrator to demonstrate the squirrel's supreme athletic ability. Fans also took the opportunity to trash the Eagles' backup quarterback. Poor Matt McGloin.

Run, little squirrel. Run straight into our hearts.
