Teton is a bold orange cat and the king of all he purveys.

Or, at least, all he purveys at the seven-acre Snowfall Ranch in Colorado where he resides.

Even though his humans took him him to help out with rodents, Teton found a greater calling. A calling to ride on horses.

"Teton was bought to take care of mice on our ranch," owner Joanna Shaw told Mashable in an email. "We got him has a kitten."

"We have not seen once mouse since Teton arrived," Shaw says.

What they have seen is even better.

The first time Shaw and her husband Scott spotted Teton surveying the land on his noble steed, they were in disbelief.

"We first saw him on a mini horse around Christmas time when there was a heavy snow," Shaw said. "We cracked up. Could not believe it. We were really shocked that the animals did not care at all. They acted like nothing was happening."

Since that initial discovery, Teton has been caught hanging out on his horse friends' backs regularly.

"He is very close friends with our mini horse Timber," Shaw said. "He also lives in the barn full time. He has a place to sleep that has a heat lamp but sleeps with the mini horses instead."

Teton's feral nature makes it unclear whether he truly believes he's ruling the larger animals with an iron paw or if they're just buddies who like to let him hitch a ride.

Regardless, Teton's horseback riding hobby makes for some great photos.
