Who run the world? Cats.

An unnamed kitty has taken over Tokyo's subway, mainly the downtown train Seibu Ikebukuro line which services stations between Ikebukuro and Seibu Chichibu.

According to several passengers, the cat is frequently spotted making itself comfortable on the train seats, without a human accompanying it.

Proving that it's no subway noob, a tweet from 2013 shows the street-smart feline riding on the train with another a furry mate.

Make no mistake in thinking that this seasoned subway traveler is a seat hogger. Although it's mostly seen perching on the seat like a boss, the cat is also known to make room for other commuters to sit by it during peak period.

Japan's subway rules dictates that pets need to be travelling with their owners on trains. However, the train company running the Seibu Ikebukuro has made an exception for this particular cat, seeing as it brings plenty of joy to its fellow commuters.
