Girl gets the 100,000 retweets she needs for a new puppy

Earlier this week, high school senior Clara Foster announced on Twitter that her dad promised her a new puppy, on one condition: she needed 100,000 retweets first. 

Well, sometimes Twitter can be used for good, because she's gone and done it.

The "@jarpad" that Foster refers to is actor Jared Padalecki, best known for hunting monsters and love in Supernatural and Gilmore Girls, respectively. It was thanks to a retweet by Padalecki and coverage by various media outlets that 100,000 people saw she was looking to adopt.

For the most part, Twitter rejoiced at the news. Although some criticized Foster's use of retweets to decide whether she should adopt a living creature (with varying levels of politeness), she assured that this would not be her first dog. 

The dog in the photo is also not the dog she would be adopting, as this one has already found a home. But all eyes are on Dad now that Foster's completed his challenge.
