Just thinking about your pets sitting at home alone is enough to make you want to quit your job and run home to them. Fortunately, some tech-savvy animal lovers have discovered the next best thing to being able to text your pet: playing with them even when you're not home.

PetCube doubles as a present for you and your cat or dog. The interactive box features a built-in camera to let you see what your fur baby is up to while you're at work and is equipped with night-vision for check-ins after dark. The two-way speaker lets you talk to your pet and hear them bark or meow in response. (Warning: there IS a risk of your coworkers hearing your pet voice.)

If you sync your smartphone with the device, you can wave a laser for your pets to chase while you're away, or activate autoplay to entertain your pet if you don't have time to play yourself. Pick up PetCube Bites and fling treats out of the device from your phone too.

Making sure your pet isn't lonely is worth all the money in the world, but fortunately you only have to spend $179.99 (or $229.00 to throw treats). Check out PetCube here and PetCube Bites here.
