We all know dogs can be adorable, but this canine is fearless.

A dog named Curry was taking a stroll with his owner in New Jersey when a slow-moving bear got a bit too close for comfort.

That's when Curry darted forward and started barking. (Chasing after an animal far larger than you seems pretty terrifying, but hey ... anything for family.)

The bear sized up Curry for a few seconds before reconsidering, but eventually scurried away.

According to his owner, Curry has been guarding the family -- including kids -- from bears and coyotes for the last five years. Good dog, Curry!
